While journal articles and papers are the primary material they offer, these databases also contain resources in a variety of formats including books.

JSTOR (short for Journal Storage) is an online academic journal archive of a variety of subjects. Searches can be narrowed by discipline (i.e. Education) and/or Journal Title (i.e. The Elementary School Journal 1914-2011)
- Full-text coverage from 1927 of hundreds of journals, including 123 related to Education
- Due to "Moving Wall" agreements with publishers, only journal issues two to five or more years old are available.
ERIC (Education Resources Information Center), sponsored within the US Dept. of Education.
ERIC is the world's largest Education database. Peer-reviewed since 2004, ERIC offers two types of resources from 1966 to the current year:
- Full text or abstracts of articles from over 1,000 journals in or related to the field of Education
- Non-Journal Publications known as ERIC documents (Look for ED numbers)
Education Full Text, also known as Wilson, H.W. Wilson, or Education Abstracts Full Text. Now owned by EBSCO.
Education Full Text covers theoretical and applied concepts in Education and Educational Technology within the following date ranges:
- Indexing: From 1983
- Books: From 1995
- Full-text coverage for 200+ English-language periodicals: From 1994+
